A Winter Wedding is one full of romance and nostalgia. Outside, the air is fresh and cool with rosy cheeks all around whilst inside roaring fires and warm drinks and food are the order of the day.

 

Winter is a truly magical time of the year to get married and if you are lucky and it snows, it may even be a truly White Wedding.

 

Suggested options for a Winter/Christmas Wedding are outlined below:

Colours: White or Ivory with Burgundy, Bottle Green or Tartan.

Stationery: Professional Christmas cards, Tartan stationery or Cracker Invites and Thank-You Cards.

Transport: Sleigh or Bright Red or Green Vintage Car decorated in tinsel.


Bride’s Outfit: Ivory / White gown with thin tartan trim.

Groom’s Outfit: Highland regalia with red based tartan.

Male Attendants Outfits: Highland regalia with green based tartan.

Bridesmaids Outfits: Half of the bridesmaids to wear red outfits and the other half in green.

Flowers: Poinsettia, Begonias, Red & White Roses.

Balloons & Decorations: Tinsel, Balloons, Christmas Tree, Fake snow, Red Berries.

Reception Venue: Any Manor or Country House with a grand fireplace.

Welcome Drink: Mulled Wine.

Reception Starter: Scotch Broth and crusty bread.

Reception Main Course: Turkey with all the trimmings.

Reception Desert: Mince Pies or Christmas Pudding.

Favours: Small wrapped gifts, quality Christmas crackers, Scottish lavender soap.

The Wedding Cake: Three tiered snowman or traditional style cake with tartan icing.

’Evening Do’ Food: Traditional Christmas buffet including Scottish salmon, Turkey & Bacon quiche and lots of chutneys. Warm roasted chestnuts would be ideal.

Music & Entertainment: Ceilidh, Father Christmas.
