The Band Shape
The first factor to consider is whether you can opt for a straight edged band to your Wedding Ring, or whether you need to incorporate a unique shape to allow the Wedding ring and the Engagement ring to sit together.
A high proportion of women will opt for a curved or fitted Wedding Ring, so don’t feel like you’re the only one doing it! The best way to determine what you need is to take a close look at your Engagement Ring.
Try laying it on a table – does it lay flat? If it does, you’re OK to opt for a straight edged band. If not, you may still be able to, but you need to look at the ring a little closer to determine what on the ring is causing it to not lay flat. In the majority of circumstances this will be the gemstone, so you should determine whether the stone is raised sufficiently to allow a further ring to sit under it but not be impeded.
If you are in any doubt, ask a jeweller - they will be more than happy to advise.
Once you have this knowledge, you can move onto looking at the band style.
The Band Style As we have already mentioned, the Wedding Ring should always compliment the Engagement Ring, so the next task is to determine the style of your Engagement Ring’s band.
There are three main options here, namely high domed, flat and softly rounded. Again you should lay your Engagement Ring on the side, focus on the band, and see whether it looks like C , [ , or ( . Page 2 of 4 [ First | Previous | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | Next | Last ]
