Only you can judge whether or not the little ones you have in mind would:
1. Be happy and willing to play a role in the Wedding (or just as importantly, would their parents be happy and willing for them to do so?)
2. Be able to understand what is going on and behave themselves throughout.
3. Wind you up if they were to go all shy or throw their toys completely out of the pram (not literally – hopefully you will have chosen someone a little older!).
To help minimise any potential ‘issues’, opting for two Flower Girls or two Page Boys can help – the fact that there is two of them will give added confidence and it looks even cuter on photo’s! Likewise, to add confidence, involve them in proceedings before the Big Day – make sure that they have met and are familiar with all the Bridesmaids or Groomsmen to help ease potential anxiety. Asking a responsible Bridesmaid or Usher to look after them during the day is also a good tip, although make sure that they sit alongside their parents during the Service and Reception so they can be kept in tow!
They say, ‘don’t work with children or animals’, but those who say that are wimps! If you have a little cutie or two in mind, be brave, don’t be ashamed to bribe them with a pic’n’mix, and watch them become the star of the day, for just a few moments that is - rest assured that the Bride and Groom will soon take over!
