We’ve all seen pictures of them in the movies – cute little boys and girls all dressed up in glad rags, the mere sight of them bringing an ‘ah’ or a tear from the whole congregation. Well now it’s your chance to replicate Hollywood with your own special little muchkins performing in your very own Wedding – that is, if you're feeling particularly brave!
Traditionally the roles that page boys and flower girls play in Weddings is limited, in fact they don’t have any official roles at all, but if you are feeling daring they can be used for the following:
Page Boys - Carrying the train on the Bride’s dress
- Carrying the rings on a cushion to the front of the service venue
Flower Girls
- Walking in front of the Bride as she enters carrying posies of flowers
- Scattering flower petals in front of the Bride as the enters
Usually aged between 4 and 10, the child attendants are often relations of the couple (nieces, nephews, godchildren etc.). It is important to remember that young children may get overawed by the occasion and completely forget what they are doing – this can be both cute and fun or it can be frustrating and irritating – picture them throwing a tantrum just when their big moment arrives and ask yourself whether you would laugh or cry?
