THE BEST MAN

• Leaving the Service (make sure it’s over!) and escorting the Chief Bridesmaid back down the aisle and outside – don’t go the wrong way or you could end up getting hitched as well!

• Making your way to the Reception Venue with the Bridesmaids (lucky you!)

• Dancing with the Chief Bridesmaid as part of the first dance (you never know, she may even be good looking!)

• Giving a speech at the Reception (the dreaded speech – but it needn’t be see the section entitled Speeches for some help and advice)

Alongside the traditional responsibilities, it is the duty of the Best Man to also volunteer to help in the run up to the Big Day in any way he can – assistance on the Big Day itself is also expected. So let’s now take a glance at what other tasks may be thrown your way:

• Being the right hand man for the Groom at all times – calming him down, helping him get dressed (make sure you know how to tie ties!), making sure everything that needs to be done has been etc.

• Assisting in the Groom in choosing outfits for the day.
