Fly On The Wall/Documentary
The Fly on the Wall or Documentary style video is much more informal than the classic style. In many ways, the output will look like a professionally edited and television quality amateur video. For those of you who can remember this far back, picture the wedding of Scott and Charlene (or Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue for those younger readers) in Neighbours. Now, remove the Angry Anderson soundtrack (but keep the pictures of Mrs Mangle crying), and you won’t be a million miles of the mark. Fly on the Wall style videographers will tend to shoot footage of the whole day from the Bride getting ready till the last dance and produce an informal documentary storybook of the whole day. The end product will be edited, but not to the extent of its formal counterpart and the addition of music and photographs is optional. This style is not for everyone, but it can be a less formal and more fun way of capturing the day.
There is no right or wrong when it comes to style, it is simply a matter of choosing whatever you prefer. Not all couples will be aware that there are different styles available (the fools – they should have visited Weddingsday!) and can live to regret choosing a style that they didn’t really want just because they thought that was all that was available.
Now that you are one of those inthe know, determine your favourite and find someone who offers it.
