Classic Cars are a much more popular option for the Groom and Best Man due to the fact that their journey is usually the longest and the higher cruising speed of the vehicles makes for a much smoother and speedy journey. Often with cream leather interiors and fully air conditioned they are not as quintessential or rare as their Vintage cousins but provide a more executive journey. An extremely popular option, Classic Cars are understandably a common sight at modern Weddings.

The Driver

Virtually all companies will provide you with a Chauffer, most of whom are uniformed. Certain companies will offer their vehicles fully decorated with ribbons and flowers in the colour of your choosing whilst others may add a surcharge, restrict the decoration to standard offerings, or refuse altogether, so if this is something you must have, make sure you ask. Some companies offer champagne as an inclusive or optional extra, so again if this interests you make sure to ask.

The Cost

With regards costs for the hire of a Chauffer driven Vintage or Classic vehicle, prices can vary and are often linked to the length of hire and mileage involved. You can expect to pay in the region of £200 to £400 although discounts for multiple vehicle hire can often be obtained. If long journeys are involved it may pay to search for a company with low or zero ‘per mile’ charges in order to lower the price.

If you are not sure whether the Vintage/Classic Car option is right for you, take a look at the articles entitled Traditional, With a Twist and Alternative Transport for other ideas.
