Search for ‘Wedding Transport’ on Google and by far the most popular result will be of companies offering Vintage or Classic Cars for hire, but what are they and how much will they cost?
Vintage Cars
For starters, Vintage Cars are older than their Classic counterparts. Typically manufactured before 1950 in the UK, they are elegant, stylish and can add a dash of sophistication to any occasion. The names Lincoln, Wolseley and Plymouth may not mean much to you but they along with Rolls Royce, Austin, Ford and Bentley are typical examples of Vintage cars that you will be able to hire.
Typically white in colour, they may well be two-tone featuring black, maroon or dark blue roofs and wheel trims – other models are often available in black, brown, maroon, dark blue and occasionally dark green.
Slower than more modern vehicles, they are not ideal for really long journeys but inside they can be just as plush and comfortable (we can't stress the words can be enough - make sure you inspect the seating very carefully and bear in mind that suspension wasn't as high up on the design agenda back then!). In the height of summer the combination of leather trim and no air conditioning can lead to a rather hot vehicle interior, hence why convertibles are a popular option. Very reliable and well looked after, there is little need to worry that they will break down – a generally superb option for Wedding Transport, you can see why they are so popular.
Classic Cars
The term Classic Car is usually applied to vehicles that were manufactured between 1950 and 1980 within Mainland Europe and include many familiar brand names. Daimlers, Mercedes, Jaguar, Rolls Royce and Bentley cars are commonly available with the most popular offerings coming in white and silver.
