”I'm gettin' married in the mornin'!
Ding, dong! the bells are gonna chime!
Pull out the stopper, let's have a whopper,
But get me to the church on time!”
...goes the song from My Fair Lady, and to be honest you can see her point (albeit we are a little concerned as to this whopper to which she refers!). But what little madam doesn’t tell you is how exactly she get there, who she travels with, which route she took and all the other key stuff that you need to know – in short, the transport itinerary.
Unless you are staying overnight at the Service venue, which also doubles up as Reception venue and Honeymoon location (highly unlikely), you will require some form of Wedding transport. It is also likely that the transport will be required for two or three journeys – to the Service, to the Reception (if different from the Service Venue), and Going Away on your Honeymoon.
It is important that you carefully plan your transport ititerary in advance. To co-ordinate the travel for the Bride and Groom is hard enough, but when you factor in a Best Man, parents for the Bride, Chrief Bridesmaid and your thirteen Bridesmaids (for those popular Bride's amongst you!), then you can imagine how tricky things can get.
Hopefully by now we will have convinced you of the need to think long and hard about the vehicles, passengers and routes, so why not check out the articles entitled To The Service, To the Reception and Going Away to find out more about each specific journey.
