A quick browse through any Wedding stationery suppliers catalogue or portfolio will quickly tell you that it isn’t just a case of sending out a couple of invites, oh no - would it ever be that simple?

There is a plethora of Wedding Stationery out there available to couples and you could easily find yourself getting carried away and lost in all that there is to choose from. Thankfully, you will probably be reading this before committing to any purchases, and you are in the right place to be able to make rational decisions away from the bright lights of the stationers. Of course this section of the site may be being read in retrospect and your stationery budget may well already have been blown completely out of the water, but don’t worry too much – at least everything will look pretty!

When it comes down to choosing what items of stationery to opt for, there are three clear cut categories into which each type of stationery falls, namely:

  • Essentials (Wedding Invites, Evening Invites, Place Cards, Thank You Cards)
  • Nice to Haves (Save the Date Cards, Order of Service)
  • Extravagant Extras (Menus, Table Plan, Designer Envelopes, Acceptance Cards)

Of course dependent upon your situation, some may not be applicable (Evening Invites for example), but on the whole the above split runs true.

The Essentials, The Nice to Have's, and The Extravagant Extras articles take a look at each section in detail. If you disagree with the above split in any way or are uncertain about any of the stationery types, then we strongly recommend that you take a read.

In fact, if you haven’t yet bought your stationery, and to prevent those budgetary strains that we alluded to earlier on, it is well worth spending a few minutes reading them now than few minutes over-spending a little later on!
