When to order?
· Put simply, order as early as you can. The earlier the invites can be sent out, the better the chance of getting a positive response, so don’t leave it till the last minute to arrange or you may be disappointed.
· Find out what the lead time is you your order. You may decide order three months before the Big Day but if it takes 28 business days to get the stationery to you that does not leave much time for the postman to do his job!
· If you are ordering fully personalised stationery then many suppliers will send you a proof to scrutinise and correct before making the final print run. Be sure to factor this into your calculations.
· Certain stationery cannot and need not be ordered till much nearer the date – for example the Orders of Service and menus will need to be discussed with the minister/celebrant and Reception venue respectively beforehand. Be sure to find out what the cut of date is for orders and build in some slack if you can to take away any stress.
It is worth your while making sure that you don’t leave things to the last minute and that you do build in a contingency. Failure to do either could send your stress levels sky high and that is something neither you, nor your partner (who will probably get the blame!) would want at this stage.
