Romantic Vows

If it’s lovey-dovey stuff you’re after, take a look at three of our favourites.

·         <Name>, I give you this ring; wear it with love and joy. I choose you to be my partner, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, as long as we both shall live.

·         <Name>, I offer you my love. I offer you my strength. I offer you my support. I offer you my loyalty. I offer you everything I am and everything I have, for as long as we both shall live.

·         <Name>, I commit my love to you this day, for as long as we both shall live. This love is the very flame of life, and may no man dare to quench it. I promise to be faithful to you, to nurture you, to cherish you, and encourage you, with the same care and concern that I give myself. Throughout our lifetime together, you will always be my beloved and my best friend.

Humorous Vows

Weddings needn’t be serious all the time – the following vows still evoke romance, but can help to put a smile on everyone’s face too. The following three vows are some of our favourites:

  • Groom: I promise to love you even when you refuse to let me watch the football, to cherish you even when you blow one week’s salary on yet another handbag, and to understand you even when you are at mad at me because of something that happened in a dream.
Bride: I promise to love you even when you leave the toilet seat up, to cherish you even when you refuse to hand over the remote control and to understand you even when you forget our anniversary.
  • <Name>, I promise to always be patient, honest, and compassionate with you. I will be your best friend, your sweetheart, your helpmate throughout life, always putting you first above my own needs. I promise to live a life that will honour the vows we have spoken, and make you glad to have joined in union with me on this day. These vows are subject to you keeping up with the deal we made about the gardening/housework.
  • <Name>, I promise to love, cherish and care for you in sickness and in health, unless the reason for your illness is the fact you have just seen your latest credit card bill and realised just how much you spent on EBay last month.
  • <Name>, I promise to love, cherish and care for you in sickness and in health, unless it is 3am and the reason for your illness is alcohol-induced and the care involves sitting with you beside the toilet bowl with a wet flannel.
