Weddings needn’t be serious all the time – the following vows still evoke romance, but can help to put a smile on everyone’s face too. The following three vows are some of our favourites:

• Groom: I promise to love you even when you refuse to let me watch the football, to cherish you even when you blow one week’s salary on yet another handbag, and to understand you even when you are at mad at me because of something that happened in a dream.
  Bride: I promise to love you even when you leave the toilet seat up, to cherish you even when you refuse to hand over the remote control and to understand you even when you forget our anniversary.
• <Name>, I promise to always be patient, honest, and compassionate with you. I will be your best friend, your sweetheart, your helpmate throughout life, always putting you first above my own needs. I promise to live a life that will honour the vows we have spoken, and make you glad to have joined in union with me on this day.
