Have a Late Ceremony
If you are dreaming of a Saturday wedding in mid-August you can still make some savings - but you will have to compromise a little.
Rather than having an 11am service followed by a Reception that flows from midday till midnight, go for a mid-afternoon service followed by a late afternoon reception. The later you sart your reception, the more chance there is of just having one meal rather than the traditional wedding breakfast followed by evening buffet.
Keep the Numbers Down
For maximum savings hold an afternoon event as described above but keep it small and intimate for immediate family and close friends only.
After a long luxurious and relaxing meal, you can spend time chatting over drinks with your loved ones and really relish in the significance of the day.
Don’t think however that this would be at the expense of celebrating with your wider group friends and family. Take a leaf out of the books of those who marry abroad and celebrate ‘big-style’ on return from honeymoon. If you do this in a function room of a club, pub or less exclusive hotel, you could make great savings on holding everything on one day in one exclusive venue.
