We all know how expensive weddings can be, and the Reception normally accounts for a large share of the costs. With this in mind, if there's anywhere you want to cut costs, it's here.
So without further ado, allow us let you in on a few trade secrets that could help you do just that.
Book A Midweek Wedding
Firstly consider having your wedding on a weekday. Sometimes even weddings on Fridays induce savings that would have not been available on a Saturday wedding.
As well as benefitting from potential lower costs from the venue, you are likely to find booking your exact requirements with other suppliers (florists, transport, entertainment, etc) much easier, and potentially cheaper, to achieve as well.
Whilst a medweek wedding can cut costs, you should bear in mind that there are also a few potential pitfalls. Keep in mind that many of your guests may need to take a day off work in order to attend, and for some professions (such as teachers) this may be very difficult.
Hold the Wedding in the 'Off Season'
If you are keen on the benefits a weekday wedding brings but just can’t be swayed away from a Saturday then ask your chosen venue about discounts for weddings out of season.
Some venues will be quite happy to negotiate on costs for weddings which take place from November to February (sometimes extended to include October and March). If you think about it from the venues point of view, it is always better to be holding some function rather than none at all!
