Picking a Colour Scheme
The colour scheme will flow throughout the course of the day – from the flowers, to the bridesmaid’s outfits, the balloons to the table decorations. Perhaps you have a favourite colour or colours that emphasise your overall wedding theme, or perhaps you wish to reflect the time of year with darker deeper colours for Autumn/Winter weddings or lighter brighter colours for a Spring/Summer wedding. When it comes to choosing colours, the choice is endless!
The Service
Religious or non-religious service is the first decision, closely followed by the venue’s location, time of the service, readings and hymns/music. There are many more options these days with a great number of premises across the country licensed to hold ceremonies. Factor in the various Registry Offices across the country as well as the number of churches, synagogues, temples, mosques and more, and you can see that there are a plethora of choices available. Parents may have strong views on the service, especially if they have strong religious beliefs, so prepare yourself!
The Reception
The reception is a generic term typically applied to the venue where the Wedding Breakfast (meal), speeches, cake cutting and 'evening do' take place. It is sometimes the same venue as that which is used for the service, or alternatively is usually within a 30-or-so minute drive from the service venue. Menu’s, seating plans, timings, accommodation for guests, room set-up, last orders and more all need to be co-ordinated along with other elements such as music, entertainment and decorations.
Entertainment
Entertainment needs to be considered for both the Reception and the Evening Reception. From table magicians to impersonators and caricature artists to firework displays there really is a huge choice. Whilst entertainment at the wedding is essential, it really can help to make the day.
