A tip to give your face a more pronounced shape is to press your tongue firmly against the top of your top set of teeth. Likewise, to promote good posture, a common method is to imagine you are carrying a pint of beer on you head and you don’t want to spill any, although why you would want to carry beer on your head who knows! If you are still struggling, try doing all of the above with your partner and then practising your poses and smiles in front of a mirror – you may look weird but it will help to prepare you for what is to come.

Smiling, relaxing, a good posture, effective make-up, knowing your best features, and understanding how to make the venue and the weather work for you will all help to create the ‘perfect photo’. That said, you will still have some odd looking shots in your portfolio, but at least you will eliminate many of those that you are too embarrassed to show anyone!
