They say that a picture tells a thousand words. The same can be said about a well taken photograph.

In the years following your wedding, the main thing that will you’ll have are the memories, but pretty much the only tangible thing you’ll have are the wedding photographs.

In short, to spend time planning the perfect day but overlook the importance of the wedding photography would be foolish.

There are many things to think about when contemplating the wedding photographer – cost, ability, portfolio and style, presentation and personality are just a few of the areas that you need to consider. Many couples are happy to use a budding amateur photographer within the family, whilst others opt for the closest thing to David Bailey that they can afford. Many couples these days are insisting on reportage style digital images with the proofs available on CD-ROM whereas others are content with more traditional sepia photographs developed in dark rooms and presented in stylish leather bound albums. Whatever your preference, it is important that you get the wedding photography right.

Working through the minefield that is modern day wedding photography to select the most suitable option for your big day can be tricky for those of us who don’t know a lens cap from a flash gun. So, in order to help out, we have put together a number of articles that will help to ensure that you make the right decisions - check out the links from the left hand menu to get started.
