For some, the necklin is just another minefield of decision making that crops up when deciding what the bridesmaids should wear, for others they have a vary clear idea what they want the overall look to be.
The following images and descriptions lay out the most popular ones when it comes to the neck line of your maids dresses (please note that the 'Necklines' article in 'The Wedding Dress' section may provide other options if you are looking for something a little different).

Halter
This style is created by attaching a single strap from one shoulder to the other by passing round the back of the neck. Halter neck straps can be of various widths and work well for both traditional bridesmaids dresses and for less formal occasions.

Off the Shoulder
The straps of this simple bodice curve outwards and sit perfectly on the tip of the shoulder. The top line of the bodice will sit just above the bust and then follow the line out the outside edge of the shoulders in a gentle curve. Off the shoulder bodices can be combined with a range of strap and sleeve options to great effect.

Strapless
This type of neckline works well with the full range of skirt options and is both modern and timeless. The top line of the bodice lies just above the bust and goes under the arms to leave shoulders, neck and arms completely bare.
