Men’s formal Wedding attire falls essentially in to one of four categories; Morning Wear, Evening Wear, Highland Wear, and Military Wear which is an option for those Grooms in the Armed Forces.
This article deals exclusively with the most popular of the three formal styles, Morning Wear, with Evening Wear and Highland Wear covered in great depth in separate articles – we have made the assumption that those of you in the Armed Forces who are choosing to wear your uniform will already know what you can and can’t wear! In 2007 we will also be publishing an article entitled ‘Something Different’ that will look at everything from Hawaiian Shirts and Panama Hats (ideal for weddings by the sea) through to Teddy Boy suits for those of you planning a Rock and Roll themed wedding - for now though you will have to make do with your imagination!
Essentially, there are five main types of Morning Wear available on the market, each defined by the jacket that is worn, and we will look at each one in turn a little later – but for those of you eager to know what you can expect later on in the article, the five styles we will be covering are:
· Tailcoats
· Prince Edwards
· Frockcoats
· Nouveau Jackets
· Suits
Trousers, waistcoats and other elements needed to complete the look are covered in the article entitled ‘Essential Extras’ and for those of you wanting to know more about cufflinks, pocket watches and other items that will complement the look, check out the article entitled ‘Finishing Touches’.
So now you know what is covered in this article and where to go for all supporting info, let’s get started by taking a look at the first item on the conveyor belt tonight.
