Now just what should the Groom and his Groomsmen wear down below?

Well, before we go any further we should tell you that there is no need to panic - we don’t intend to wax lyrical over the pro’s and con’s of boxer shorts versus y-fronts so you're quite safe on that front!

Instead when we refer to ‘down below’ what we are essentially talking about are the items that will be worn on top of your underwear (sorry Superman, not even you’ll be able to wear your duds on the outside when you and Lois eventually tie the knot!). When it comes to the items to be worn 'down below', the male members of the wedding party essentially have three choices open to them:

Trousers

The vast majority of Grooms and Groomsmen will wear trousers of some description at a Wedding. Striped trousers are the most popular option, and for those of you not familiar with the term, don’t worry the stripe is very subtle and you won’t end up looking like Coco the Clown. A typical striped pair will use dark grey as the base colour then intersperse a think black stripe (about 3mm) with two thin black stripes (about 1mm each, separated by a 1mm grey band) – the result looks classy and works with just about every type of Morning Wear. Plain trousers are the order of the day for Tail Suits, although they can also be incorporated into Morning Wear outfits. For those heading down the Dinner Suit line, plain black trousers with a thin black satin band running down the outside of each leg from waist to toe are the order of the day. Finally, more outlandish designs (golfer Ian Poulter would be ever so proud!) are available and tartan trousers are a viable alternative to a kilt for use with Highland Regalia for those of you afraid to show off your hairy legs.
