It is all well and good talking to you about the fact there are tons of options available, but just how do you go about making a decision? Well, the remainder of this article deals with just that and, when read in conjunction with the other articles on menswear, you should be in a position to make a choice that will leave you, and the rest of the male Wedding Party, looking and feeling cool, comfortable and classy.
So let’s look at how to make that all important decision.
Consult with the Bride
Whilst we have mentioned that the Groom can make decisions as to the male Wedding Party outfits themselves, it is always wise to discuss things first with the Bride. The general rule of thumb with Wedding outfits is that no-one, not even the Groom, should overshadow the Bride and take away any of the gloss from her appearance. It may seem a little antiquated to say this, but when you think that the Groom’s outfit (even if bought, rather than hired) will still normally cost a fraction of the Bride’s, then the reasons begin to become apparent. How many Groom’s can say they have dreamed of their Wedding outfit since they were a little boy (very few we would imagine) and this is yet another reason why you should avoid an outfit choice that would get more comments and smiles than that of your future wife’s. If you do have anything weird or wacky planned (cowboy outfits, teddy boy suits, fluorescent pink dinner jackets etc.) make sure that the Bride (and the Registrar, in case they object) are aware and are happy with your choice. For all other outfits, it is nice (and perhaps courteous) to let the Bride know of your plans, although not essential, especially if you want to surprise her (as she will do with her dress) on the day.
