Column
A slim fitting dress which will closely follow the line of body from bust to toe, sometimes referred to as a pencil skirt it differs from the A-line by being cut straight down rather than at a slightly outwards angle. It can be combined with a range of different bodice styles though works particularly well as an empire line dress (see our section on bodices). The column dress profile is suitable for maids who are confident in their figure, and ideally suited to those who don’t have to shop in specialist shops for their clothes! |
