Garden Games

Garden games are a much more sedate option than inflatables, but no less fun. As their name suggests, garden games are ideal for the outdoors and can be played by guests of all ages, without wrinkling their outfits or staining their garments - on top of this they can be used throughtout the day and are an ideal form of entertainment for the guests whilst you and your partner parade around having your photo taken.

Popular garden game options include garden darts, croquet, quoits, garden 4-in-a-row ('Connect 4' for those fans of MB Games!), and giant tumble tower (Jenga!). Giant outdoor chess, snakes and ladders and other similar games are also available if you shop around.

Whilst you will probably be able to find a supplier near you who will hire out the games out for the day, if you are only after one or two, it may be worth your while buying them outright. The games can be bought for a reasonable price from toy stores and online, and you then have the advantage of being able to bring them out at picnics in the summers to come and re-live the fun of your wedding day!

Fairground Rides

OK, we admit that fairground rides are only for the truly rich amongst you, but if you do have the cash spare and the space available, then they are a cracking extravagance that all your guests will enjoy and remember.

From Waltzers and Dodgems, to Ferris Wheels to carousels, fairground rides rides can be hired on a daily basis from a number of suppliers across the UK. Whilst they can be quite costly (as much as £1000+ a shot, which on reflection makes them really pricey!) they are relatively practical for your guests and can be used right throughout the day and evening. For real theme park action, consider also hiring a Coconut Shy or Hook the Duck! As with inflatables, you will need to check with your supplier and with your venue what space is required and what space is available.

For all you big kids out there, hopefull this article will have given you plenty of ideas to run home and discuss with your mummy and daddy!
