The term Morning Wear (or Morningwear / Morning Suit depending upon your preference) refers to a style of outfit reserved for weddings and other formal occasions. Several Morning Wear options are available and, between them, they are the most popular types of wedding outfit chosen by a Groom for himself and his Groomsmen in the UK today.
Essentially, there are five main types of Morning Wear available on the market, each providing a formal appearance, but with very differing styles. The five types of Morning Wear are outlined below.
Morning Wear : Tailcoats
A knee length jacket that tapers away from the mid-rift towards the hips, thus providing the ‘tailed’ appearance. This style of morning wear features normal suit lapels, typically one or two buttons, and is commonly available in black, dark grey, light grey and navy blue. read more...
Morning Wear : Prince Edward Suit
A ¾ length jacket with no tapering that ends midway between the hip and the knee. A knee length, double breasted jacket that has no tapering and simply runs straight from the base of the lapels down to the bottom of the jacket. Morning Wear : The Nehru Jacket
A ¾ jacket, similar to the Prince Edward, whose bottom finishes mid-way between hip and knee, the Nehru is available in both single breasted and double breasted versions. What separates this style of morning wear apart from its colleagues is the collar.
