COUNTDOWN TO THE HONEYMOON

Honeymoon Countdown :: 6-12 Months To Go

• Book accommodation for your first night, and any subsequent nights, in the UK prior to departure (if applicable). Remember to also book any activities you have planned for before you travel.
• Book honeymoon accommodation (and try to get free upgrades by dropping the phrase ‘we will be on our honeymoon’ into every conversation!).
• Book flights/train tickets/ferry passes etc. including any meals you need to pre-book. Make sure that the travel company is aware of any special dietary requirements.
• Book any transfers.
• Book a hire car (if required).
• Book any excursions.
• If you are travelling abroad to somewhere with a native language other than English, you may wish to enrol yourself on a foreign language course and learn the basic lingo!
• Research what activities/shows etc. are available where you are headed and determine if there’s any that take your fancy.

Honeymoon Countdown :: 3 Months To Go

• Sort out your passports – if they are to expire or if you need to change any details on them (i.e. any impending surname change) now is the time to do it.
• Find out whether a Visa is required in order to gain entry to the country you are travelling to and if so, make necessary arrangements.
• Check out what (if any) vaccinations are required and make appointments to have them.
• Book kennels or catteries or arrange for your pets to be looked after by a friend, relative or neighbour.
• Book any theatre tickets/activities etc.
• Find out if there are any ‘must visit’ restaurants where you are headed.
