The next day is also an ideal time to visit any close friends or relatives who were unable to make it along due to health reasons – grandparents can often be top of this list and to turn up and see them would really make their day.
If you’ve spoken to everyone you want to or feel that you need a change of scenery, then why not check into a Health Spa for the day – jacuzzis, steam rooms, solariums, hot tubs, sauna’s you name it, they will all help you to relax and unwind. A day of pampering could be just what you need before you begin your travels. If you feel your budget can’t stretch any further, then why not pamper yourselves at home – a deep bath followed by a massage and a night in front of the TV watching ‘Love Story’ (or perhaps even a good movie!) is a cheap and easy way to relax.
If you are a couple who will have a few days in the UK before you head off, then you may want to partake in some of the things we have mentioned already, but you may also want to take the added opportunity to do other things – take a read of the remainder of this article to find out more.
Other Days
For those of you setting off a few days after your Wedding, then the last thing you’ll want is a lull. It is important that you keep the romance and excitement going, so why not indulge yourselves in one or more of the following:
-
A short break to a romantic city in the UK – Chester, Stratford, York, Edinburgh etc.
-
An activity day which could involve some friends or relatives – karting, clay pigeon shooting etc.
-
A few nights at a luxury hotel near to your departure point (ideally one with health & beauty treatments available).
-
A trip to the cinema to see a romantic movie followed by a candlelit meal at an exclusive restaurant.
-
A crash course in a foreign language (ideally the one they’ll speak in the place you’re going to!)
Whatever you decide to do, try to avoid going back to work unless you really need to.
The period between your Wedding and your Honeymoon should be treated as the ‘unofficial honeymoon’ and you shouldn’t lose sight of this. Make sure that you have things planned, even if they are simple cost-free activities, otherwise you’ll find that the romance and excitement that has been built up can easily fall away. Too many couples forget about, or overlook, this time and it is such a shame (and a waste). Make sure that you’re not one of those couples.
