Not all couples will jet off into the sunset the minute the last guest leaves the reception, with many choosing (or given little choice by flight times etc) to remain in their home country for a short while. So, if you aren't heading off straight after the wedding, put some honeymoon planning time aside and determine just what you'll get up in the time in between - our dedicated article may just provide you with some inspirational ideas.

Passports & Visas

There's a pretty decent chance that at least of you will be changing your name during the course of the wedding ceremony, and this name change needs to be reflected on your passport(s). In addition to this, there's very often additional paperwork that needs to be arranged depending upon your ultimate travel destination or destinations.

It's nigh on impossible for us to outline all the variables in terms of visas and national entry requirements, but we've pulled together a handy overview which you may want to check out before you go any further.

Booking a Honeymoon

As soon as you know where you want to go, what you want to do and how long you plan to stay for, the one mainstay of the whole honeymoon planning process that needs to be carried out is the actual booking (and ultimate paying!) for the whole thing.

Whilst your local travel agent is still a great option, there are many others on the table these days so it's not as straightforward as it once was. Be sure to heck out our booking a honeymoon article before you sign on the dotted line - you might just save yourself a bit of cash in the process.

Honeymoon planning is a piece of cake when compared to wedding planning, nontheless it still needs doing and doing well. Hopefully you will have gleaned some great little hints and tips from this article, but don't be afraid to check out more of our in-depth reads for more comprehensive advice.
