Hampshire County Council have just given the thumbs up to a rather unique venue which is now legally allowed to host Civil Weddings with immediate effect.

'The Domus', part of the Beaulieu Estate in the New Forest, is part of the 11th Century Abbey and was once a refectory for Cistercian monks. It will provide a totally unique setting and expected to attract lots of interest as new filters out.

Hampshire County Council Leader, councillor Ken Thornber, said, 'Increasing the number of venues approved for weddings and civil partnerships gives couples more choice when planning their big day. Hampshire is a beautiful county and offers many locations that will make perfect backdrops for that special occasion.'

'The Domus' joins 'The Rosebowl' as one of those 'many locations' councillor Thornber referred to, and they are expected to be joined by other quirky venues such as The National Motor Museum in the near future.
