Gone are the days when hen parties meant a quiet night in with friends accompanied by a glass or two of red wine. These days, bachelorette's everywehere are celebrating in more ways than you could possibly imagine. This article focuses on one of those activities that virtually all 21st Century hens are including in their celebrations - hen night drinks.

What is a Hen Night Drinks?

A few simple drinks down your local is fine, but come on, the hen will never get married again (please do not quote us on that at any stage in the future!) so why not push the boat out and expand the drinking horizons? From party cruises and VIP nightclub passes to part buses and dare laden bar crawls, when it comes to the hen night drinks there are a heck of a lot of options on the table.

Where Can We Do It?

When it comes to the hen night drinks, above all else, location is key.

Unless you have a specific drinking 'activity' in mind - a Bavarian themed 'oompah' night for example, then the vast majority of your beverage consumption can be pencilled in for any of the major towns and cities across the UK and around the world. If you're short of ideas, be sure to check out our Stag & Hen Destinations guide for more advice.

Who is it Suitable For?

Whilst there is no upper age limit on hen night drinks, there certainly is a the lower end of the age scale. Depending upon where you are in the world, the drinking limit will typically fall at either 18 or 21, though certain states, countries and provinces can and do have their own variations on this. With this in mind, be sure to check things out well in advance and be prepared to take along some valid ID just in case.

When Does it Take Place?

Whilst the hen night drinks can commence at any time of day, it is always a shame to start them too early on in proceedings and miss out on some of the other hen do activities that the world has to offer.

With this in mind, try to keep the serious beverage consumption to the evening and perhaps engage in just a tipple or two as you prepare for a photoshoot, attend a matinee theatre performance or take on board some dutch courage before you bungee jump away!

How Much Will Hen Night Drinks Cost?

The drinks themselves will range from around one pound, dollar or euro for a soft drink or pint during happy hour to over ten times that figure for a cocktail in an exclusive drinking establishment later on in the evening.

In addition to the cost of the drinks, you need to consider whether you plan to team the hen night drinks with any other activity...

A simple pub crawl embellished with tasks or challenges for the bride and hens can give the night a really special feel and won't cost the earth.

Other activities like Party Cruises (a musical jaunt down the river with drink in one hand and sick bag in the other!) and Party Buses (similar, but on dry land) will cost around €$£10-40 per person dependent on numbers but may also include food and a couple of drinks. VIP Wristbands, Bavarian themed nights and nightclub entry are all similar in terms pricing.

To add that special touch to the hen night drinks you may wish to consider a limo hire. Whether it's a bright pink hummer, streched limo with tinted windows or even a fully kitted out fire truck, they will cost a couple of hundred for the vehicle with excess mileage extra - a cost of course that can be shared between all the bachelorette's.
