3. Put as many items on your gift list as you can think of. For a guest, there is nothing worse than asking to see the gift list only to find that either every item has been bought or that only a couple of high priced items remain. A good mix of small and large priced items always works best, and remember that if you have set up a formal gift list then you may be able to get a discount on any un-bought items.
In case you are struggling for ideas about what to ask for, let’s take a quick look at some of the popular gift list items along with some of the more unusual gifts that couples up and down the country are asking for these days:
· Cutlery and Crockery: Ah, the wedding gift list banker. We all need to eat, so why not do so with some decent stuff. Splitting the items out individually means that even the less well off members of your guest list will be able to buy something that you really want.
· Luggage: Essential for that impending holiday and asked for by many, many couples across the UK – just make sure that you get them in plenty of time to use on your honeymoon!
· Towels: Luxurious beach towels or classy Egyptian cotton bath sheets – we all need to dry ourselves down so why not do it in style.
· Small Electrical Items: Items such as kettles and irons are essential for couples moving in together for the first time. If you fall into this category, or if you are still using a toaster from your student days, then these items can be perfect additions to any gift list.
· Large Electrical Items: Certain guests at your wedding may be willing to stretch a little further with their budget (parents, grandparents etc.) so if you are after a new fridge freezer, washing machine or dishwasher then you may well just be in luck.
