There is nothing more beautiful than the sight and smell of flowers in bloom, (although some would argue that the aroma from a big bar of chocolate would come close!). Either way, wedding flowers will be an essential part of the big day.

From the wedding service to the bride's bouquet, and from the wedding reception to the buttonholes and corsages, wedding flowers are everywhere to be seen. Co-ordinating the ‘floral package’ so that it complements the day, but at the same time looks subtle and romantic, is a tricky affair. When you also consider that certain flowers are only in bloom at certain times of yearm while others are only available in certain colours, you can easily understand why you may need a little help coordinating them!

No one can advise you better than a good quality florist and we would never attempt to pretend that we know more than them. However, to go straight into the first florist you see and give them a carte blanche to work with can be a costly mistake.

In order to avoid making such an error, it is essential that you take the time to develop an understanding of what image you are trying to project, what colours and types of wedding flowers you are interested in and what budget you have available. As well as this, it is also important that you take the time to find the right florist for you – after all, there are thousands of wedding florists out there in the UK fighting for your custom, so take your time and identify which ones deserves your hard cash.

Knowing where to start with wedding flowers can be tricky, particularly if you don’t have greenfingers. So, in order to help give you ideas on the types of flowers to plump for, along with how to identify which florist to use, this part of the site contains a series of articles that should help point you in the right direction.
