So you’ve done it! You ignored all our advice and chose the first cheap ring you saw, proposing to a woman you have only just met by handing her the box with the ring in it when drunk at a funeral – and she still said ‘Yes’.
Unlikely we know, but whatever the circumstances, congratulations!
But before you rush ahead and start choosing the wedding dress or planning the seating arrangements, why not take it easy and enjoy the early weeks of your engagement – after all, you’ll never have this moment again, so take your time and savour every moment after the proposal.
First of all you will need to let people know, then perhaps head out for a nice meal to celebrate, or perhaps even throw a big party and let the world know of your happy news. Whatever you opt for, just remember that the early weeks of the engagement are a fun and joyous time, so make sure that you make the most of them.
Of course, there is another scenario, ones which many websites are afraid to touch upon, but not us here at Weddingsday. There is a chance, albeit a very small one, that something will go wrong (including your partner rejecting your offer of marriage). If this is the case, then you need to be prepared for how to handle things.
If you're celebrating after the proposal, you need to know what should happen next, so check out the articles in this section for some help and advice. And, if it's sulking - you have our commiserations but check out our article on what to do if it all goes wrong.
