Egypt’s Red Sea Riviera offers miles and miles of beautiful beaches. The most popular, and perhaps best beaches within Egypt, can be found in the resorts of Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada.

For those couples choosing to honeymoon on Egypt's coast, the undoubted number one sporting activity is diving, with the Red Sea offering some world-renowned opportunities to explore beneath the sea. For those honeymooning inland, sporting activities are not particularly high up on Egypt’s tourism agenda, but for those who are up for it, you could always try visiting the Pyramids on horseback.
Local Flavours of Egypt
Egypt does offer it's visitors a wide range of dining opportunities and international cuisine isn’t too hard to track down. For those more adventurous honeymooners who are looking to sample the local delights, shish kebab or a cup of Chai (Egypt’s national drink of black tea served with sugar) are musts.
On a Night in Egypt
The nightlife is lively and western-orientated on the coastal resorts, with bars, clubs and outdoor cafes drawing in the crowds. Further inland, the nightlife takes on more of a traditional feel with snake charmers and belly dancers in no short supply. For those who really want to immerse themselves in local pastimes, it shouldn’t be too hard to follow your nose and track down a sheesha pipe.
Shopping in Egypt
If you like to barter, then Egypt is the place for you with bargains available galore if you are willing to negotiate. Teeming with boutiques and markets, local goods such as spices and jewellery sit side-by-side with the staple tourist goods of t-shirts, plates and fake watches.
Top Resorts in Egypt
If you want nothing more from your Egypt honeymoon than sun and relaxation, head to the Red Sea area and book into either Hurghada or Sharm el Sheikh. For those of you wanting to see the true Egypt and all it has to offer, Cairo and Luxor are musts.
Out & About in Egypt
We’ve got this far and haven’t even mentioned the Sphinx yet! Well that’s all about to change. The Great Pyramids of Egypt (and not forgetting the Sphinx of course) complete with evening ‘Sound and Light Show’ are spectacular, and only a fool would travel to Egypt and not pay them a visit. Jam packed with museums and archaeological finds we could talk for hours about the Karnak Temples, Egyptian Museum and Valley of the Kings (did we mention the Sphinx?), but suffice to say they are simply musts for Egypt honeymoons. A cruise down the River Nile is unbeatable, and why not round it all off with dinner at a traditional Bedouin camp.
