The Honeymoon

On a Night: Buzzing, but not thumping, would be a good way to describe Malaysia’s nightlife. If you are looking for something on a par with Ibiza you won’t find it here, but what you will find is a huge selection of bars, restaurants and clubs catering for all tastes – except all you Cream and Manumission fans!

Shopping: Local handicrafts are abundant and make great souvenirs and gifts – pewter, silver and brass items are particularly easy to track down. Cosmopolitan Kuala Lumpur plays host to some great shops and malls and is a good place to head if you are looking for something more modern.

Top Resorts: Langkawi and Penang are a haven for beach lovers and combine history and tranquillity in equal measure. The capital city of Kuala Lumpur is both lively and colourful and is excellent for all you shopaholics out there. For a more sedate Malaysia honeymoon, head for nearby Borneo, the world’s third largest island, where wildlife and nature are in abundance.

Out & About: Malaysia is a sightseers paradise with modern day wonders such as the huge world-famous Petronas Towers, sitting hand-in-hand with colonial eloquence and stunning mosques and temples. A visit to Borneo to see the orang-utans of Sandakan and nesting turtles of Selingan is a must. For those of you who haven’t spent all of you energy on a night in bed (you honeymooners know what we mean!) then why not take a guided climb up Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain in South East Asia.
