Local Flavours: Fine dining is widely available in Las Vegas and all of the main hotels have a selection of top class restaurants featuring cuisine from around the world. That said the buffet restaurants, and there is normally at least one in each hotel, are a feast to behold. For next to nothing you can eat enough to fill up for you most of the day. If you have a sweet tooth try the Cheesecake Factory in the Forum shops at Cesears Palace which is also home to the City’s first Caviareteria.

On a Night: The casino’s are just the tip of this Nevadan iceburg. Shows are a massive draw, from a range of broadway-esque productions (such as Mamma Mia and We Will Rock You), to Cirque du Soleil (Ka, ‘O’, Zumanity and Mystere) and from music legends (including Celine Dion and Elton John) to Elvis impersonators and Magic Acts. The Strip also has a whole host of free entertainment including the fountains at the Bellagio, M&M world, the erupting volcano in front of the Mirage and the Sirens of TI. If clubbing is your thing, most hotels have at least one nightspot for dancing the night away so there will be something that will cater to your every whim.

Shopping: Each resort has themed shops, boutiques and mini-outlets by the bucket load, all primed to entice high-rollers and big winners in to buy the goods - The Wynn Resort even has a Maserati and Ferrari dealership. The Forum Shops at Ceasers Palace has an unbelievable collection of high-end stores along with designer boutiques. The Fashion Show Mall is a great place for high street stores but for bargains and outlet shopping try the Belz Factory Outlets a short taxi-ride away.

Top Resorts: Las Vegas has a number of smaller resorts, but most of the activity is centred around 'the Strip'. There you'll find a a number of mind-boggling hotels, each with something different to offer its residents. The most exclusive hotels include Caesars Palace, the Wynn and the world renowned Bellagio. For a Rock and Roll experience you can’t surpass the Hard Rock Hotel, or for somewhere a little cheaper, give the Excalibur a whirl. You are free to wonder from hotel to hotel and access all of the attractions each has to offer - this is a fact well worth keeping in mind for those looking to book a Las Vegas honeymoon or Vegas wedding.

Out & About: No trip to Vegas is complete without an excursion to the Grand Canyon. Second on the list has to be the Hoover Dam. For something a little bit different take a drive to the real ‘live’ ghost-town of Rhyolite. For points of interest closer to the action check out the Liberace museum and the Fremont Street Experience. Remember that most of the great things about Vegas are based in and around the hotels. All of the main hotels on the Strip have a whole host of activities hidden within them from the lion habitat at the MGM Grand and King Tut’s tomb and museum at the Luxor, to Shark Reef at the Mandalay Bay and Adventuredrome, the USA’s largest indoor theme park at Circus Circus.
