Best Time to go: Located in the Mojave desert, Vegas is relatively hot and dry most of the year round. July to September is monsoon season so thunder storms are frequent bringing with them sudden downpours and impressive lightening displays. The winters are typically mild but temperatures can still hit freezing in the coldest months. April to June, October and November have the best weather if you are looking for mostly dry days where it's not too hot, and are probably the best months to head overseas for a Las Vegas honeymoon or Vegas wedding.
Best Beaches: The 250 miles to the nearest coastline doesn’t stop Vegas from having some unbelievable beaches - granted they perhaps aren’t of the standard of the Caribbean or Mauritius but with everything else Vegas has to offer they are just what’s needed after a few days of non-stop activity. On the Las Vegas Strip, the pool at the Mandalay Bay recreates a tropical lagoon including a fabulous white, sandy beach. If you want a few days away from the bright lights, try a stay at Montelago Village at the west end of Lake Mead which has a stunning beach constructed from 350 tons of imported white sand.
For Activity Lovers: In the city that never sleeps you really can do pretty much anything your heart desires. Golf is particularly popular with the best courses being Shadow Creek (exclusive to MGM Mirage Properties), Reflection Bay and The Falls (about 30 mins from the strip). A range of water sports are available from Lake Mead. Other pursuits such as horse riding, mountain biking through Cottonwood Valley, hiking and rock climbing are also available.
