On a Night: Nightlife is lively, but sleek and sophisticated rather than pulsating and loud. Wine bars and exclusive clubs are the norm, so if it is pubbing and clubbing that you’re after, there are probably better alternatives.
Shopping: Befitting Dubai’s status as one of the world’s richest places, gold is perhaps one of the best local purchases. Hi-tech goods are also well worth looking at. Dubai is a shopper’s paradise with souks and malls everywhere – if you come back from Dubai with spending money then you must have done something wrong!
Top Resorts: Dubai is one large city and within it there are a number of districts, but all tend to blend seamlessly with one another. Taxis are plentiful and cheap so it is easy to get around. Dubai is one of those places where we would suggest that you choose which hotel you want to stay in, rather than which area - that said, with the vast majority of hotels rating 3* and upwards, most can provide the perfect location for any couple after a luxurious Dubai honeymoon.
Out & About: The souks and shopping malls (such as the huge Mall of Emirates) are a must. Nad Al Sheba racetrack plays hosts to some of the world’s richest horse races or for something a little different take a trip to see camel racing. A 4WD desert safari is always fun, or for something more sedate, why not go sightseeing and take in the amazing Palm Deira, The World (both are man-made islands in the sea), Jumeira Mosque, Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach hotels (the former looks like a sailboat, the latter like a wave in the sea) or the Burj Dubai – the world’s tallest building (currently under construction).
