Budget wedding planning may appear complex at first, especially if you've never been involved in anything like it before, but there are ways to simplfy the tasks that lie ahead. Step 1: Prioritise

Knowing what priorities you have for the day and what aspects of it you want the most emphasis on is the first step to successful budget wedding planning. Set these priorities out early and stick to them.

Step 2: Know the Costs Involved

Unless you're a serial bride or groom who's been married many times before, then chances are that you don't have a clue how much a photographer will cost or whether a bunch of flowers will set you back more than a handful of invites. Get a grasp on how much things are likely to set you back before you go any further down the budget wedding planning path.

Step 3: Decide how you want to budget

There are a couple of options you have here - a 'money led' wedding budget or a 'wants led' wedding budget. Decide upon your preference early in the planning process.

Step 4: Know How Much Money you Have at Your Disposal

Having a clear grasp on your available cash pot is crucial. Look at all sources and try to get a clear understanding and firm figure from each before proceeding with your budget wedding planning.

Step 5: Set an appropriate Wedding Budget

Armed with all the facts and figures, it's time to set your wedding budget itself. Take your time and assess everything at hand before setting it in stone.

Step 6: Stick to your Wedding Budget

Easier said than done perhaps, but unless you do this then all your budget wedding planning will have been in vain.
