The Honeymoon

The beautiful island of Bali is situated in the Indian Ocean, lying between the Lombok to the east and Java to the west. It is one of over 17,000 islands in the Indonesian archipelago and is home to around 4 million inhabitants.

Best Time to Visit Bali

Jet off on your Bali honeymoon or Bali wedding between the months of May and October if you want to avoid the wet season and the Hindu festival of Nyepi when much of Bali closes down.

Best Beaches in Bali

Bali can offer honeymoon couples some wonderful beaches from which to choose. Some of the most popular beaches are to be found on the South of the island in the towns of Sanur, Nusa Dua and Kuta.

For Activity Lovers

Mountain biking along the Batur Trail is popular as is tennis and golf. For those honeymooners looking for sport down on the beach, windsurfing and scuba diving are widely available. If you fancy a little more action, then head to the Ayung River and partake in white water rafting.

Local Flavours of Bali

The food in Bali is typically Indonesian so expect exotic tastes and textures mixed with local fresh seafood and meat. Chicken Satay, fried noodles, and roast suckling pig are local delicacies and for snacks, forget crisps and chocolate, fresh tropical fruit is the order of the day.

On a Night in Bali

Lively Kuta with it’s waterfront bars and discos is a mecca for honeymooning night owls, whilst Jimbaran is more low key but still has the buzz. Seminyak and Legian plays host to a number of ex-pat haunts whilst if it is more traditional nightlife you’re after, head to Ubud with it’s live music and shows.

Shopping in Bali

Bali can offer honeymoon couples of all ages a variety of ways to part with their cash – from the designer outlets in the capital Denpasar, through to market shopping in Sanur and Kuta. Local favourites include leather goods, carved wooden artefacts and hand crafted jewellery.

Top Resorts in Bali

Sanur, Kuta, Ubud and Nusa Dua are particularly popular and it is easy to see why – beautiful beaches and a friendly welcome make them the ideal place to base yourself for your Bali honeymoon or Bali wedding.

Out & About in Bali

The Alas Kedaton Monkey Forest makes for a wonderful and insightful day out, whilst the Tanah Lot Temple (built on a rock in the sea) is both beautiful and mystifying. For those honeymoon couples after some thrills, take a Jeep Safari and go off-road and explore.
